Adam Hutchinson has always lived and worked in Gloucestershire, and after moving to Twigworth in 2018 became involved with the club, due to his daughter Lara’s desire to play hockey. Lara immediately wanted to strap on a set of goalie pads and get stuck in, and both were drawn in by the welcoming, supportive culture at the club.
After working through the difficult times and constantly changing lockdown rules of 2020/21, Adam wanted to get further involved with supporting and helping the club that they had both come to love. He was surprised and honored at the committee’s suggestion of taking up the role of Chairman.
Adam started his business in 2005, from his garage. Over the last 16 years, Gaudio Awards has become the leading bespoke awards manufacturer in Europe, supplying trophies to events such as Formula 1, this years’ EUFA Euros, and companies such as Coca Cola and Unilever.
From a startup business to a company of over 30 people, Gaudio’s success is driven by investing and developing the team. After winning the Government backed Investors in People Award for Small Business of the Year last year, Adam is looking forward to bringing his experiences and knowledge from building his business to the club.
“When asked to consider the position of chairman, I was initially shocked at the offer. I do not come from a hockey background, but on reflection feel that my business background could help the club during its next stage of growth following the disruptive period of COVID. I hope my experience will help to develop a structure that supports the clubs’ captains and coaches as they continue to deliver high quality training. Upon reading the clubs’ strategy for the next four years, so much of it echoed my own beliefs and values in business, and I was confident I could make a positive contribution and help deliver the clubs’ vision.
Anton has done a great job over the last five years, and set the club in good stead, and I look forward to continuing his outstanding work.”
