Despite rain forecast, a sunny morning appeared for our ladies 3s. A game away in Cirencester everyone was ready to do battle, for what is always a feisty fixture. With Royal Greetings from Mike Tindall we were welcomed to Cirencester positively. Sadly, that soon changed for Gloucester as Cirencester scored an early goal in the first half. Our ladies fought back hard, held great possession and created several chances but couldn’t find the back of the net.
Our ladies 3s had two debuts today, one for Michaela who had her club debut. Michaela was calm under pressure at centre back and continued to win the ball from Cirencester in our 25. Well done Michaela! Our team debut was for Hannah, who put in a shift up front and absolutely ran her socks off ! Well done Hannah !
There were some absolute scenes on the pitch today with a beautiful aerial from Herbie who, despite many attempts was unlucky with the goals. Her efforts definitely did not go unnoticed.
With multiple goal line saves our defence had a strong fight on their hands. From the likes our skipper Kez and vice skipper Di Williams we were lead into a positive second half. We had some absolutely beautiful runs from our midfield and courageous efforts from our forwards however sadly the ball was unable to cross the goal line. With two additional goals scored from Cirencester, they racked up a trio of goals and Gloucester were sadly left behind. Although no goals were scored for Gloucester we could not be faulted by the efforts that were put out on the pitch today.
