If no agreement is made prior to the game then this will be considered as not allowing the use of reverse stick hits. For clarity, a reverse stick shot would be considered if it has a large back swing and follow through eg the tomahawk. Slapping or bunting the ball is allowable if under control and deemed safe by the umpire. | ||||||
Additional important footnotes: |
1. The GCHC Summer Mixed League has been in place for many years now and has always been intended as a friendly and sociable mixed league. |
PLEASE ENSURE ALL GAMES ARE PLAYED IN THE CORRECT SPIRIT. The league committee is aware of the abilities of some individuals, and whilst we do not wish to start outlawing |
anything that forms part of normal hockey rules, all captains and teams should be aware of the standard that the opposition may play at normally, and this should be borne in mind by all members of the team and are aware of how to contact staff at each playing location should the need arise.. |
3. It is the responsibility of each team to be properly insured and covered. The league will not accept responsibility or liability for any injury or loss of property incurred whilst playing or visiting and attending games. Most clubs will have appropriate insurance to cover teams representing them in official organised tournaments, competitions or leagues. Mixing players from different clubs is likely to invalidate insurance held by clubs covering their players as individuals are not covered. |
4. By entering the League and by partaking in arranged fixtures within the league it will also be deemed that you accept all of the above rules and footnotes and agree to abide by them. |
