The Hockey Heroes Programme is a one year (from Sep 2019 – Aug 2020) pilot in conjunction with England Hockey.
Hockey Heroes believes in creating a sporting environment that allows all children to enjoy taking part and to feel successful.
The programme believes there are superpowers waiting to be unlocked in every child, and it aims to bring out and celebrate these powers!
Hockey Heroes does this through giving children the opportunity to develop fundamental movement skills and specific hockey skills, as well as personal character skills that are key to sport and life (such as teamwork, perseverance & sportsmanship) whilst, above all, having lots of fun!
The Hockey Heroes programme also recognises the important role that parents play in encouraging their children to be active and to develop an interest in sport.
Certain elements within the programme have been specially designed to maximise parental interest, engagement and involvement.
The next Hockey Heroes 6 week block session will start on Friday February 28th 2020, running from 4pm to 5pm. This will be at Oxstalls Tennis Centre, GL2 9DW.
